Sallie's Croft and Animals

Sallie Lives and works from her croft and house on the Island of Great Bernera,
in the Western Isles of Scotland.

 On the croft lives the cow Serena

The friendly and cherished sheep with their fine wool

And the cheeky Angora goats Ludi and Mo
who produce the lustrous shimmering mohair, which is used mostly
in the tapestries for the sea and other shining shapes

All making good use of the grass, herbs and flowers

The croft has been revived, drained, fertilised and partially planted with old-fashioned
oats, Avena Strigosa, which were enjoyed over the winter.
